Friday 8/11, 5pm
The current Brattleboro area weather forecast is calling for rain into tomorrow mid afternoon. The weather also says it will be clearing for the evening with less chance of rain.
Based on this forecast, we believe we will be able to perform for you tomorrow at 6:00pm and we are planning on it.
If the weather forecast changes, or tomorrow comes and we find that the conditions have changed and that we cannot perform safely (we cannot dance while it is actually raining) or we/you won’t be able to be safe (thunder/lightening), we will communicate any changes by 4:00pm at the latest. Changes will be communicated via email, the Farm to Ballet website (www.farmtoballet.org), the Farm to Ballet facebook page by 4:00pm on Saturday August 12th. We will not be communicating out if the ballet will go on, as that is the current plan. We will only be communicating if we are cancelling- which is unlikely.
Based on the forecast, the grass where you will be sitting will likely be wet. We would recommend planning accordingly. Bring chairs. Bring a tarp to place under your blanket.
As a reminder, the Children's Farm & Forest will be open for guests to enjoy from the time the gates open at 4:30pm until the start of the ballet. Bring a picnic or dine at local food trucks including Dosa, Rigani Wood-Fired Pizza, Ro's Petite Fête, and Tito’s Tacos.
Come early to enjoy the grounds, listen to music and see the pre-show performance!
Rain Plan: If it rains, the show will need to be cancelled. Audience members can either choose to continue to give their donation to the the farm, get a reimbursement or exchange their tickets for a different show.

About Retreat Farm
The Retreat Farm is both a new nonprofit and a historic farm. The farm has been a vibrant and important part of Brattleboro since 1836. For most of its history, it provided food, fuel, and work for the patients of the Brattleboro Retreat. Late in the last century, changes in mental health practice, food service, and government policy eroded the viability of the Farm for the Brattleboro Retreat. In 2001, the Windham Foundation took ownership of the property, joining forces with the Brattleboro Retreat, the Vermont Land Trust, the Preservation Trust of Vermont, and the Vermont Housing and Conservation Board to preserve forever the remaining 612 acres of farm and forested land, the iconic farm structures, and the Farm’s founding principles. In 2015, the new nonprofit, Retreat Farm Ltd. was born. We are working to restore the farm and create a center for conservation, education, recreation, and sustainable enterprise in Southern Vermont.
